This development provides 130 affordable traditional homes and an amenity block for the elderly for Glasgow Housing Association.
The overall design fosters a sense of community and inclusion; several courtyard clusters with a mix of semi-detached houses and cottage flats are grouped around a variety of public, semi-private and private external spaces. The courtyard arrangement together with the steeply sloping site boundary, posed significant engineering constraints and careful consideration was required to ensure level access to the properties could be achieved. In addition, the existing ramp which provides connectivity to adjacent residential properties had to be maintained and this was factored into the overall engineering design of the project.
