Dunbeg Phase 3


The site is located north-west of the village of Dunbeg near Oban and lies within area of natural beauty with a high sensitivity to environmental impact.

 G3  has been engaged on the masterplan for the area since 2017. Ultimately the complete development will comprise circa 600 homes and a commercial area.

 Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the development are outwith the Link Housing Association sites. Phase 3 comprises 300 two and three storey affordable housing units within a designing for streets layout, together with a new distributor road which services the wider area.

 Major engineering challenges included steep gradients and shallow rock.

 The sites has a range of engineering challenges including:

-          Steep Topography

-          Shallow rock (requiring blasting)

-          New Pumped Foul Drainage

-          Existing Culverts & Water course requiring diversion

-          Off-site drainage improvements

 G3 Consulting Engineers were responsible for providing a full range of engineering services including site assessment, foundation, civil and superstructure design.

G3 are now working with the rest of the design team on the Phase 4 development comprising a further 300 homes.
