Dundashill Plot 3, Glasgow

The site of the former Diageo distillery at Dundashill is a Transformational Regeneration Area in the north Glasgow, and it is currently being redeveloped to provide a mix of energy efficient, low carbon social and private housing. G3 was appointed to provide civil, structural and environmental engineering services across a variety of Phases, starting with the 90 unit flatted development at Plot 3, which is currently the largest Passivehaus development in Scotland.

The site is set within a steeply sloping landform which had been subject to historical platforming and remediation activities. G3 prepared a comprehensive assessment of the works undertaken previously and designed a foundation solution that integrated with what had previously been prepared, while also taking cognisance of the stability of the existing slopes to the front and rear of the property. The environmental remedial works were also reassessed and redesigned in line with current standards.

Feature landscaping, comprising a mix of communal and semi-private spaces, integrated raingardens with traditional planting and G3 worked closely with the Landscape Architect as the drainage design evolved.

Services Undertaken:

Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering / Geo-Environmental / Principal Designer
