Glengowan Primary School extension and Newton Farm Primary School extension are two storey steel framed extensions. Upper floors comprise permanent metal deck topped with insitu concrete. Metal deck roofs supported on cold formed purlins. Both buildings are carried on piled foundations to suit the proposed loadings and underlying ground conditions.
The Robert Smillie Nursery is located in Larkhall and is a single storey new build project. Timber frame construction supported on RC strip footings on trenchfill concrete taken to the underlying bearing strata. Timber frame selected for the structure to ensure an energy efficient construction. Roof mounted PV panels included in scheme.
The nursery has been designed as a “beathing building” with both natural and hybrid ventilation. Roof mounted wind catcher cowls adopted to compliment the design.
